Local community development company, Development Coll, has been successful in a partnership initiative now set to bring an unprecedented mobile phone coverage to the islan.
Its partnership with Vodaphone and the Scottish Government has created a £165,000, seeing a pilot community ownership of a mobile mast which should be transmitting by the end of summer 2014.
Construction has begun, with residents and businesses looking forward to greatly enhanced communications, three hours out there in the Atlantic, with its sister island of Tiree.
